Joseph L. Daw, Jr., MD, DDS, FACS
A warm and caring board-certified physician who has been recognized as one of America’s Top
Doctors by Castle Connolly and the Consumer Research Council, Dr. Daw brings extensive
training and experience to his role at DuPage Medical Group.
He practices the full scope of aesthetic surgery of the face (facelift, rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty) and
body (liposuction, breast augmentation, abdominoplasty). His clinical interests for children also
include head and facial anomalies such as cleft lip and palate, craniosynostosis and facial skeletal and
jaw disorders. Moreover, Dr. Daw appreciates the importance of establishing relationships with his
patients. His appointments are never rushed, and he spends a great deal of time listening to his
patients’ concerns and wishes and educating them on their options, so they can understand their
procedures and be comfortable with their decisions.
Dr. Daw received his dental degree in 1986 from Loyola University School of Dentistry in
Maywood, Illinois, and his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1991. He completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at
Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois, and his plastic surgery training at Northwestern
University-McGaw Medical Center. He also underwent an intensive fellowship training in
craniofacial surgery at the Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City in 1998.
Prior to joining the DuPage Medical Group, Dr. Daw was Chief of Craniofacial Surgery at the
University of Illinois at Chicago and served on the faculty in plastic surgery at the University of
Illinois at Chicago Medical School. He currently is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery with
the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University. He is affiliated with Hinsdale, Good
Samaritan, Central DuPage, and Edward Hospitals.
Dr. Daw is certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Oral &
Maxillofacial Surgery. He belongs to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American
College of Surgeons, and the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, and he served as president
of the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons from 2007-2008. In addition, for many years,
Dr. Daw has provided care for children with birth deformities at Shriner’s Hospital for Children
in Chicago.
