What is a Medical Spa?

According to the International Medical Spa Association, a medical spa is a facility whose medical program is run under the strict supervision of a licensed healthcare professional. Medical spas offer different ways of combining the comfort of a day spa along with conventional and complementary medical modalities all in one location.

The IAS has chosen to focus on aesthetics, offering day spa services to complement plastic surgery of the body and face. In addition to the traditional plastic surgery techniques, physicians utilize lasers and intense pulsed light technology as well as medical microdermabrasion, BOTOX, Restylane, and Radiesse injections, chemical peels and other medical aesthetic procedures. The benefit to you is that these new technologies permit these procedures to be performed without surgery or minimal to no recovery time. You can also enjoy traditional spa services like facials, massages, and body treatments.
