Liposuction of the Face

Facial Liposuction is an effective treatment for patients who feel their face appears too round and full.  This is also a great treatment if you have a double chin you just can’t seem to get rid of.  A patient may be naturally slim, but genetics can cause fatty deposits in unwanted facial areas.  Also, patients who have lost a significant amount of weight may still have unwanted stubborn facial fat remaining.  By reducing the fatty deposits of the jowls, under the chin, and neck, we are able to define your facial appearance.

Q:  How long does the procedure take?

A:  Every situation is unique, but generally Facial Liposuction surgery is about ½-1 hour long.

Q:  Will it be performed under local or general anesthesia?

A:  General Anesthesia.

Q:  How long will I be out of work?

A:  Patients may return to work within 1 week.

Q:  What should I expect after my procedure?

A:  Patients will experience temporary swelling, numbness, and discomfort.

Q:  Do I need special testing prior to my procedure?

A:  Testing is dependent on the patient’s health history and age.  Testing is ordered for every patient.

Q:  Will this be covered by insurance?

A:  No.

Q:  When can I start exercising after my procedure?

A:  Light, normal activity can be resumed within 1-2 weeks following surgery.

Q:  Where will I be having my surgery?

A:   DuPage Medical Group has a fully accredited ambulatory surgery center located in Lombard, IL.  Patients also have the option of having surgery at select local hospitals. 

Q:  How much does surgery cost?

A:  Every situation is unique and the cost of surgery depends on several factors.  The duration of the procedure varies on how extensive the surgery is.  The duration will then determine the price of anesthesia and how long the surgical facility will be scheduled for.  In order to provide the most accurate surgical fee estimate, it is necessary to meet with one of our board certified physicians for a consultation.
