Necklift, also knows as Cervicoplasty, is a procedure performed on patients who desire a tighter, more refined jawline and neck.  Due to aging, heredity and sun damage, the skin on your neck and jawline may become droopy and “turkey-like.”  While a Facelift addresses the sagging skin of the jawline and of the midface area, a Necklift will only correct the skin of the jawline and the neck area.  By tightening your skin through surgery, our physicians are able to restore a more youthful looking neck and jawline, enhancing your profile.

Q:  How long does the procedure take?

A:  Every situation is unique, but generally Necklift surgery is about 2-3 hours long.

Q:  Will it be performed under local or general anesthesia?

A:  General anesthesia.

Q:  How long will I be out of work?

A:  About 1-2 weeks depending the patient’s work environment and on the level of activity required by the job.

Q:  What should I expect after my procedure?

A:  Patients may experience temporary bruising, swelling, and soreness of the ears and cheeks.

Q:  Do I need special testing prior to my procedure?

A:  Testing is dependent on the patient’s health history and age.  Testing is ordered for every patient.

Q:  Will this be covered by insurance?

A:  No.

Q:  When can I start exercising after my procedure?

A:  Light, normal activity can be resumed within 2-3 weeks following surgery.

Q:  Where will I be having my surgery?

A:  DuPage Medical Group has a fully accredited ambulatory surgery center located in Lombard, IL.  Patients also have the option of having surgery at select local hospitals.

Q:  How much does surgery cost?

A:  Every situation is unique and the cost of surgery depends on several factors.  The duration of the procedure varies on how extensive the surgery is.  The duration will then determine the price of anesthesia and how long the surgical facility will be scheduled for.  In order to provide the most accurate surgical fee estimate, it is necessary to meet with one of our board certified physicians for a consultation.
